Hello, I am Claudia I am an art historian and a professional licensed City of London Guide.
Growing up in Rome, I spent endless time wandering around the Eternal City, looking for ruins, works of art, hidden secrets, curious anecdotes, unexpected alleys, and the quirky spots some people may not know.
In 2003 I moved to London to study for an MA in Visual Cultures and felt in love with the city.
While studying, I started a job at the Royal Collection as one of the in-house guides for Clarence House and the Royal Mews. My art background and a special interest in English history and heritage proved beneficial in showing tourist and visitors the glorious past of Royal London.
This experience also gave me a taste for tour guiding. Once I completed my MA I worked for various museums and cultural institutions, while keeping my passion for urban explorations alive. Since 2014 I am a licensed City of London Guide, a member of the City of London Guide Lecturers and a Green Badge Associate of the Institute of Tourist Guiding.
I offer specially designed tours in English and Italian and my main interests are social history, art and architecture and gardens.
I lead tours from the City Information Centre, and I also guide for not-for-profit organisations, such as Open House London and Open Garden Squares.
I recently decided to set up a new website and my own walks, both to offer participants a different perspective of the City (beside the usual sightseeing and guided excursions) and also to bring the London past to life with passion and competence.
